PESHAWAR, Dec 24: The NWFP government has formally declared its two Auqaf seminaries as the model Madaris and has announced that admissions in them will begin from the current Islamic month of Shawwal following a decision of the federal government to establish model Deeni Madaris in all the provinces.

Provincial administrator Auqaf Noorul Haq, while elaborating details in this respect here on Monday, said that two religious seminaries being already run under the Auqaf Department, namely Darul Uloom Sadaat at Toro, Mardan, and Darul Uloom Fateh Maktab at Shawa, Swabi, have been formally approved as model Deeni Madaris. A decision has been also taken with regard to starting admissions in these institutions from the current Islamic month.

He said admission committees have been constituted for this purpose and interested parents and students could approach these committees as soon as possible. He said initially admissions from Darja Awal (Class 1) to Darja Naham (Class 9th) were being started in these Madaris, for which age limit was fixed as 20.

He said besides the usual religious subjects, students would be taught computer, mathematics, English and science subjects to enable them cope with the ensuing challenges.

He said as per approved policy, these model Madaris have been affiliated with Federal Madaris Board and all the concerned examinations would be held under this board.
