KARACHI: Conversion of telephone numbers

KARACHI, Dec 19: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company is converting 10,000 analogue telephone numbers of the Clifton exchange to digital numbers, officials said here on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the PTCL said that the analogue numbers prefixed 57 were being converted to 537. He added that this was the last set of analogue telephone numbers at the Clifton exchange which were being converted to digital numbers.

The spokesman said that out of the last set of 10,000 analogue telephone numbers, only 8,500 numbers were operational.
