ISLAMABAD, Dec 15: Chairman National Highway Authority Maj- Gen Farrukh Javed has said that there is a vast capacity of extending range of cooperation in economic sphere particularly in highways sector between Pakistan and Turkey.
He was talking to the president of Turkish Construction Company M/S STFA, Sait Gomen, here on Saturday.
Maj-Gen Farukh Javed said nature of Pakistan-Turkey relationship was exemplary. He said vast opportunities of cooperation in highways sector existed between the two countries and such cooperation provided chances to the construction experts of both the countries to be acquainted with each others’ experiences. He expected that cooperation in sphere of construction between the two countries would be promoted.
Expressing views on the occasion, the STFA president, Saif Gomen said the STFA had satisfactorily completed the Lahore Bypass project. He said work on Dhori Nullah-Rajanpur and Sarai Gambila-Karak sections of the highways had also been completed.
He said there were plenty of chances for participation of private sector in construction projects in Pakistan. He also offered cooperation to Pakistan in rehabilitation work of highways in Afghanistan.—Our Reporter
