Chinese team due in Kabul

BEIJING, Dec 13: Chinese diplomats will be sent to inspect the Chinese embassy in Kabul and meet officials of the Afghan interim government, foreign ministry spokesperson Zhang Qiyue said on Thursday at a press conference.

The team, led by a senior official, Zhang Min, is scheduled to leave Beijing on Friday.

China closed its embassy in Kabul in 1993 for security reasons.

Ms Zhang said China would continue to provide assistance to the Afghan refugees in Pakistan and Iran.—APP
