One killed, 25 hurt as bus falls into ditch

SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 9: One person was killed while 25 others sustained injuries, six of them seriously, in a road accident near Manawala on Faisalabad Road on Sunday.

A bus was on its way to Faisalabad from Lahore. Near Manawala, the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle fell into a roadside ditch. One Sadiq Ali of Sheikhupura died on the spot while 25 others sustained injuries. The injured were taken to different hospitals.

SHOT DEAD: A motorcyclist was killed while a passer-by was injured in firing by two men near Dera Rajputtan on Muridke-Narang Road, some 45km from here, on Sunday.

Allah Wasaya was going on a motorcycle when two men also riding a two-wheeler opened fire on him. Allah Wasaya died instantly, while a passer-by, Syed Masoom Shah, sustained injuries.

Muridke Saddar police are investigating.
