PESHAWAR, Dec 9: In order to offer maximum facilities to passengers and to cope with increasing flow of travellers, the capacity of Passenger’s briefing area of Peshawar Airport has been doubled.

This was disclosed by airport manager, Syed Zahoor Ali Shah, while talking to newsmen.

“The enhancement of the briefing area was undertaken in pursuance of a well-thought master plan chalked out by the Civil Aviation Authority for phased expansion of Peshawar airport,” Mr Shah informed.

“Now the passenger’s briefing area at Peshawar airport is developed to the standard being maintained at international airports,” he informed.

Zahoor Ali Shah said that during the expansion special emphasis was given to convenience of the passengers and on provision of better environment to different agencies operating at the airport.

He said the CAA expansion programme include enlargement in aeroplane parking area, construction of new taxi track, doubling of car parking capacity, improvement of airfield lighting system, expansion in lounges and installation of landing system.

This expansion was the second one to be undertaken under the CAA plan, he said and added that earlier a cargo complex at Peshawar airport was established to facilitate the business community of NWFP.

The airport authorities are working actively for expeditious execution of the CAA’s expansion plan, with the completion of which the standard and working of the Peshawar airport will improve manifold, he concludes.—APP
