Asif and Babar propel Gul Club

RAWALPINDI, Dec 7: Asif Mahmood and Babar Naeem stroked fine half centuries to propel Gul Club to a 31 run victory over Javed Sports in the Ramzan Sports Festival cricket tournament Friday.

Asif struck an unbeaten 76 and Babar scored 67 as Gul put on 221 for five in the match played at ARL Ground. Qaiser with three wickets for 36 was the top wicket-taker for Javed Sports.

Javed Sports gave a befitting reply with Adil Shaheen (82) and Shahid Javed (62 no) spearheading the run-chase. However, in the end their side were able to score 190 for three when they ran out of overs. Babar and Raja Sarfraz took a wicket each.

Decent Club bt Pindi Club by 62 runs at Railways Stadium. Decent 190 for seven (Nadeem 47, Faraz 32, Safdar 22); Pindi Club 128 all out (Haris 34, Bilal 29; Nazakat 4-18, Safdar 2-26, Safi 2-20).

Sadar Gymkhana bt Abbasi Club by six wickets at Muslim School Ground. Abbasi 74 all out (Usman 21, Shakil Raja 4-5, Taimoor Kiyani 2-15, Jawad 2-21); Sadar Gymkhana 75 for four (Shakil 24 no, Irfan 18, Sheraz 2-14, Khurrum 3-25, Sajjad 3-23, Ehsan 2- 28).
