Last ball success

KARACHI, Dec 6: United Sports beat Nazeer Gymkhana by four wickets in the very last delivery of the Eighth Shoaib Trophy Colour Kit cricket tournament at the Shadab ground.

Nazeer Gymkhana batting first did well in scoring 179 for six in the 20 allotted overs with Ahmed Nawaz (36), Shahzad and Aamir Anwar with 29 apiece and Waqas Ahmed (22) among the runs. Idrees picked up three for 29.

United Sports in reply reached the winning total of 182 for six in the very last ball of the match. Moid Farooqui (63), Moshin Raza (62) and Syed Nusratullah (44 n.o.) made that victory possible. Asif Sualeh (2-30) and Chanzain Malik (2-34), bowled well for the unlucky losers.

In another match LMS beat AO Blues by eight wickets at the TMS ground. A O Blues deciding to bat first were restricted to 115 for seven in their 20 allotted overs through N. Salman (2/25), Atif Raza (2-18) and M. Iqbal (2-20). Umaid top scored for his team with 27 runs.

LMS in reply scored 116 for two in 16.1 overs with Ashfaq Shafi (53) and Abid Farooqui (50) excelling with the willow. Farukh Bari bagged both the wickets that fell for 23 runs.
