KARACHI: 4 injured in Gulshan firecracker explosion

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 5: Four people were injured, one of them seriously, when a powerful firecracker exploded near an American fast food restuarant in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Wednesday evening.

“Unidentified persons tossed the firecracker from the flyover in front of the outlet of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in Gulshan-i-Iqbal during the rush hours.

The cracker landed in front of the restaurant and exploded,” said the city police chief, Tariq Jamil.

Due to the explosion, four people had suffered injuries and had been taken to a nearby private hospital, he added.

The police failed to arrest or chase the suspects, who had fled the scene. Police did not have the information whether the suspects were riding a motorcycle or they were in a car.
