By Our Correspondent

NAWABSHAH Dec 3: The phutti (cotton) dealers of Gupchani — Daulat Raam and Teja Raam — who were kidnapped late on Sunday night from Sim Nullah, Jam Sahib, have been freed by the dacoits as a result of hot pursuit carried out by the police here on Monday.

According to details, police got activated and blocked all the exit points of the district.

Fearing that they might be arrested or killed, the kidnappers left the traders in a sugarcane field alongwith their car DK-940 near Bandhi after tying their hands with ropes. The traders succeeded in untying themselves and reached Bandhi on Monday morning. They told newsmen that there were five dacoits possessing sophisticated weapons. Police have launched a massive hunt for the kidnappers believed to be still within Nawabshah.
