PESHAWAR, Dec 1: The Gaddafi International Foundation for Charity Association (GIFCA) has offered its services to the United Nations and the International Committee of Red Cross for the repatriation of foreigners, specially Arabs, from Afghanistan.

In this regard, a letter was sent by the Foundation to United Nations Secretary- General Kofi Annan, special envoy of the United Nations secretary- general Lakhdar Ibrahimi and president of ICRC stating that the Foundation was ready to initiate a process for the patients, wounded Afghans, Arabs and other foreigners.

It added that as mistrust existed between the forces of Northern Alliance and Afghans and foreigners, specially after the massacre in the Mazar-i-Sharif prison, the Foundation sought their evacuation through bilateral cooperation and to arrange their return to their homeland, since these groups were not involved in what was going on in Afghanistan.

The Foundation said that the Taliban diplomatic mission in islamabad had requested it on Nov 20, a day before its closure, to intervene and supervise the disarmament of the Arabs and the Taliban to prevent further bloodshed in Afghanistan.
