Girls college to be set up in Swabi

By Our Correspondent

SWABI, Nov 28: District Nazim Sher Zaman Sher has said that a Darolaman and a degree college for girls will be established as efforts geared to this end were in an advanced stage.

Speaking at a seminar organized by the citizen action committee of Samajee Behbood Rabita Council (SBRC), he said the government had given 33 per cent representation to the womanfolk in the local government.

This had greatly boosted their morale and given them the confidence to stand on their feet, he said.

“The women, who represent 50 per cent of the country’s population, had suffered mostly due to our culture and illiteracy. The women of other federating units also confronted numerous difficulties. However, the government is resolute in its pledge to protect their strategic interest,” he added.

He urged the women councillors to identify women’s problems and the district government will leave no stone unturned to resolve them. He called for imparting of education to the womenfolk which could enable them to earn a living with dignity.
