Youth stabs sister-in-law to death

By Our Correspondent

TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 27: A woman was killed by her brother-in-law on resisting a rape bid in Faiz Colony on Tuesday.

Tahira, mother of a four-year-old son, was residing in the house while her husband Dilawar Husain had been a government servant in Islamabad.

Living to look after the family, Dilawar’s younger brother, Muhammad Asif, stabbed her when he failed to rape her and fled.

On receiving information, the relatives reached there and recovered the body.

City police have registered a case against the culprit.

DIED: Former MPA Mian Muhammad Rafiq’s nephew, lumberdar Chaudhry Muhammad Amin, died of cardiac arrest here on Tuesday.

Members of his family reportedly found him dead early in the morning in his room.

His only brother Chaudhry Yameen Mazhar had also died of heart failure two months back.

Hundreds of villagers attended his funeral prayers.

JAILED: A butcher was arrested by police for selling beef of dead animals here on Tuesday.

On receiving public complaints, slaughter house superintendent Dr Gulzar Ahmad raided Muhammad Islam’s shop in the New Market and recovered the stale beef. He was sent to jail on judicial remand.

One Faryad Husain was already in jail under the same charge.
