PESHAWAR, Nov 18: One person was killed and seven others  were wounded on the other side of the Pakistan-Afghan border when a village was  hit twice by the US fighter planes early Sunday  morning, sources told Dawn.

Villagers reached by phone said the US planes rained bombs at  2am and 7am on Sunday and caused life and property damage in the area in tribal belt.

A duty officer at the Edhi Foundation told Dawn that they  had transported eight injured from Torkham Bazaar to the  Agency hospital  in Landi Kotal.

One of the wounded, hit by a  shrapnel, died of injuries on his way to hospital.

The names of the dead and injured could not be identified till late.

 The Edhi Centre said they had handed over the  injured  to the Agency hospital and trying to ascertain their identity.
