ISLAMABAD, Nov 17: Labour minister Omar Asghar Khan has urged the civil society organizations to support the process of devolution and democratization, which, he added, would help establish a system of good governance and democratic culture in the country.

The minister was speaking at a Democratic Rights Citizens Education Programme workshop here on Saturday.

The minister said civil society organizations had played an important role in mobilizing the deprived and marginalized groups such as women, peasants and workers in the recently held local government elections.

He said majority of councillors belonged to the lower- middle and working class which, he said, augured well for the establishment of an egalitarian socio-economic system in the country.
