KARACHI, Nov 11: A meeting of more than 18 representative organizations demanded on Sunday the withdrawal of what they said anti-people laws at the earliest, according to a press release.

The meeting was of the view that the Ordinance 2000 on the dismissal from service and the Civil Servants Act 1973 were aimed at stopping the victims from seeking relief for court of law.

The participants were of the view that the withdrawal of all these ordinances was imperative because of the fact that these deprived an affected employee of a legal course to move court in case of a disciplinary action.

Those who attended the meeting included the central paramedical staff association’s central president, Mohammed Musharraf, Zakir Husain, Mohammed Umar Dahiri, KDA Mazdoor Union president Abdul Mateen Waheed, general secretary Humayun Shakir, Sindh Employees Alliance’s additional general secretary Mubarak Ali Qaimkhani, All Sindh Teachers Association’s general secretary, Qazi Aminuddin, Mohammed Ali Kazmi, Central Organization of Lecturers’ vice president, Rashida Nusrat, Sindh Agriculture Workers Association’s provincial general secretary, Abdul Khaliq Jawwad, Sindh Professors Subjects Specialists Association’s chief organizer, Mohammed Iqbal Ahmed.
