Shahid Qambrani hits 79

KARACHI, Nov 7: Promising Shahid Qambrani continued his dazzling form in the Quaid-i-Azam Cricket Trophy Grade-II when he hit an attractive 79 as Dadu piled up 270 for eight in their first innings against Pishin in the semifinal tie at PCB Regional Academy Ground Wednesday.

By stumps on the opening day of three-day match, Pishin were in trouble at 92 for five in 29 overs, still needing 28 runs to avoid the follow-on. Muhammad Ali was 28 not out at close.

Qambrani, who hit century in each innings of the match against Nawabshah, was caught behind off spinner Habibullah. He batted for just under two hours, faced 107 balls and struck eight boundaries. Saleem Shamim, who made 66, added 124 for the third wicket with Qambrani in 102 minutes.

Spinners Muhammad Ali and Habibullah shared the bowling honours. Left-arm spinner Muhammad Ali got three for 65 in 18 overs and off-spinner Habibullah claimed three for 66 in 14 overs.
