KARACHI: Police told to assist administration


KARACHI, Nov 6: Sindh Governor, Mohammedmian Soomro, has stressed the need for close coordination between the police, administration and elected representatives for the promotion of values and maintenance of law and order in society.

He stated this while presiding over a meeting at the Governor’s House, to review the law and order situation and pace of work of the district government.

The governor said that the police should play their role with the cooperation of elected representatives.

He emphasized upon cooperation between police and community in rural as well as urban centres throughout the province and eradication of anti-social elements from society.

The meeting decided that in order to keep education, industries and other economic activities on the move, no hindrance on highways and roads would be tolerated.

He instructed reinvigorating traffic police and implementation of traffic rules in rural areas as well.—PPI
