QUETTA, Nov 3: A Balochi-stan High Court division bench admitted the petition of former food department contractor Shamraz Khan against the sentence awarded to him by an accountability court in a corruption reference.

The bench, comprising Justice Amanullah Yasinzai and Justice Fazalur Rehman Khan Bazai, after hearing arguments from both sides, admitted the plea for regular hearing.

Shamraz Khan was convicted and awarded 14-year rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs990 million in a corruption reference by Quetta Accountability Court No.1, presided over by Judge Mohammad Anwar Khan Kasi last week.
