NOWSHERA, Nov 3: Cond-emning the US decision to continue airstrikes on Afghanistan during Ramazan, chief of Pakistan-Afghan Defence Council and Jamiat Ulema Islam Maulana Samiul Haq said on Saturday that the decision had shattered all international values of respect to religions.

Maulana Samiul Haq said that the US had already violated all norms of international law, UN Security Council and human rights by bombing innocent civilians inside Afghanistan.

Talking to media persons including foreign journalists, the JUI chief recalled that even before Islam, the infidels of the holy city of Makkah had respect for the holy months and they suspended war during those months.

He said that allied forces should have learnt lessons from their continuous one month bombing and announced a ceasefire, so as to pave way for dialogues. He asked the government to withdraw its support to the US airstrikes following its decision to continue the attacks in Ramazan.

Maulana Samiul Haq claimed that after destroying Afghanis-tan, the US and its allies would destroy Muslim countries specially Pakistan and its nuclear capabilities. Moreover, he said that the US wanted to station its troops in the region so as to keep an eye on China.

He said that all the efforts of Pakistan to hold jirgas and conferences of Afghan people were at the behest of the US.
