KARACHI: AI demands cessation of hostilities in Afghanistan

KARACHI, Nov 3: The Amnesty International, Karachi Group, in a meeting here on Saturday, called for immediate cessation of hostilities in Afghanistan so that relief supplies are stored before the onset of winter.

The meeting, attended by the members and supporters of AI, also called on the warring factions and powers to cooperate in the humanitarian work.

Supporting similar calls by various other organizations, it requested the government to sign and ratify the Convention of Status of Refugees.—PPI
