25 more Afghan refugees deported

QUETTA, Nov 2: The government on Friday deported 25 more Afghan refugees to Afghanistan for their involvement in violent anti-American protests in Quetta on Oct 8.

Quetta Police chief Abid Ali said at a press conference here that the refugees were sent to Chaman in police custody.

“All the 25 refugees were handed over to Taliban authorities by the Pakistani immigration authorities at Chaman border,” SSP Abid Ali and added that 15 refugees had earlier been deported on Oct 29.

He said the police had arrested 149 saboteurs from Quetta and Kuchlak, including 40 Afghan refugees, for attacking public and private properties, including banks, police station, post office, shops and railway station.

He said that during investigation, their involvement in the violent demonstration had been proved.

Responding to a question he said that the refugees were deported without their families.
