Cash, cars, motorcycles taken away

By Our Reporter

LAHORE, Oct 30: Robbers and thieves took away cash, three cars, a van and five motorcycles from different parts of the city on Tuesday.

Three gunmen stormed into the medical store of Shahzad in Shadbagh and looted Rs9,000 in cash. Later, they entered the adjacent shop of Mushtaq and made off with cash and valuables worth Rs30,000.

The same gang also deprived one Rashid Ali of Rs7,000 in cash.

In Kahna, two robbers deprived Amin of Rs6,000 in cash and a motorcycle.

Later, people from neighbouring villages blocked the Ferozpur Road for some two hours. They claimed that the area had become a hunting place for robbers, but police had not taken any preventive measure despite complaints.

The Kot Lakhpat DSP rushed to the spot and assured the protesters to meet their demand. The protesters later dispersed.

A van (LXB-1000) and three cars (STM-9818, RNC-3737 and LXZ-7784) were driven away from Samanabad, Baghbanpura, Ichhra and Allama Iqbal Town, respectively.

Four motorcycles (LXY-5819, LXR-5514, LHF-5840 and BRF-5321) were stolen from Garden Town, Mughalpura, Shahdara and Sanda, respectively.

MURDER: Mahmood Shah, 65, was stabbed to death allegedly by an addict, Mehboob Ahmad, at a shrine in Gujjarpura.
