PESHAWAR, Oct 29: Awami National Party (ANP) has asked for putting an immediate end to the US-led allied airstrikes on Afghanistan in the wake of civilians killings.

The party condemned US strikes on Afghanistan observing that a large number of Afghan women, children and old men have been killed in the name of targeting Taliban’s military installations and terrorists’ hide-outs.

The ANP asked for bringing halt to the airstrikes by the beginning of the Ramazan and urged the UNO and OIC to play their due roles to ensure culmination of US attacks on the war- torn country, Haji Mohammad Adeel, information secretary of the party said in press release here on Sunday.

The party reiterated its stand on the traditional Loya Jirga and said peaceful and negotiated settlement to end the Afghan conflict lied in the traditional assembly of elders from all walks of life.

Apart from asking the neighbouring countries to open their borders for the Afghan refugees, the party also urged the Arabs and foreigners from other Muslim countries, presently engaged in Afghanistan, to leave Afghanistan helping the Afghan nation to resolve their issues by themselves.
