Brahimi arrives for talks

ISLAMABAD, Oct 28: A 3-member special delegation of the United Nations led by Lakhdar Brahimi, the special envoy of the UN Secretary General for Afghanistan, arrived here on Sunday to discuss future political set up in Afghanistan.

The delegation was received at the Islamabad airport by Saudi ambassador and Mr Suzer Kent and Thomas Ruttin, both UN military advisors, sources said.

The delegation included Mr Ashraf Ghani and Mr. K. Kawlbata. Ashraf Ghani is an expert on Afghanistan in a US-based think tank but is reported to have Afghan background.

Mr Brahimi will call on President General Pervez Musharraf on Monday.
