ISLAMABAD: Hizbul Tehrir demands release of its members

ISLAMABAD, Oct 27: Hizbul Tehrir has asked the government to eliminate secularism and establish Khlifat system in the country.

A spokesman for the organization Nawaz Khan, in a press statement on Saturday, condemned the government for arresting large number of Hizbul Tehrir members in Peshawar, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore, to prevent them from taking part in peaceful rallies.

He asked the government to release all the arrested members of the organization immediately. He accused the government of arresting the religious leaders on behest of the United States.

He criticized President General Pervez Musharraf for taking action against his own people just to please the US. He disclosed that a large number of the members of Hizbul Tehrir had been arrested in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey and other Central Asian countries.—Reporter
