More Saudi relief goods arrive

ISLAMABAD, Oct 19: Two more special flights from Saudi Arabia carrying about 25 tons of relief goods for Afghan refugees arrived here on Friday .

The flight carried wheat flour, sugar, rice and condensed milk. The number of shipments so far sent by the Saudi government has now reached seven.

A Saudi official said two flights daily would bring relief goods for the refugees.

He said the goods would be dispatched to Peshawar where the staff of Saudi Red Crescent would distribute them among the refugees.

According to the official, the Saudi government will purchase blankets, tents, shoes and clothes from the local market as part of the relief aid.

Meanwhile, a special flight from Bahrain carrying 33 tons of relief goods arrived here on Thursday.

The goods included medicines, blankets, milk, tea, biscuits and tents.—APP
