KOHAT, Oct 16: The administration called in civil defence force after anti-US protesters went on rampage and damaged several audio, video cassettes shops and video games centres during the demonstrations here on Monday evening.

The protesters specifically targeted the audio and video centres in the cantt area and hurled stones at the signboards of music centres.

The head warden of the civil defence force, Hanif Awan, said that all his men had been put on alert to face any untoward incident and provide all necessary help to the citizens.

Meanwhile, the Edhi Foundation had started its special operations in Kohat and Parachinar to help the UNHCR in providing relief assistance to the Afghan refugees.

SALARY DISBURSEMENT: The employees of a Women Vocational Institute in KDA have demanded early disbursement of their salary and immediate repair of the sewing machines lying unutilised for the past several months due to the apathy of the department concerned.

They appealed to the district Nazim and philanthropists to come to the help of the vocational institute for expanding its projects for the benefit of poor girls.
