Nazim booked for kidnapping villager

JHANG, Oct 15: The Nazim of Pir Panja Union Council was booked on Monday for kidnapping a resident of Vijelka village.

According to the FIR, Ghulam Muhammad was on his way to Pir Panja village when UC Nazim Rai Maratab Ali and his accomplices forcibly took him to an unknown place and confined him there.

Ghulam Muhammad’s father-in-law Allah Bakhsh approached the Nazim for his recovery. Rai Maratab assured him that Ghulam Muhammad had been ‘taken into custody’ for some necessary business and would reach home after five days. The Nazim threatened Allah Bakhsh with dire consequences when he insisted on the release of his son-in-law.

Later, Ghulam Muhammad’s wife met him in the detention. He told her that the Nazim had produced him at gunpoint before Chenab Nagar Naib Tehsildar and obtained his statement for the sale of his 5 kanal land and residential house.

Barana police registered a case against Pir Panja Union Council Nazim Rai Maratab Ali for kidnapping Ghulam Muhammad, on the report of Allah Bakhsh. —Correspondent
