Commitment to fight hunger reiterated

ISLAMABAD, Oct 15: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has said that Pakistan is committed to join hands with the world community to fight hunger and reduce poverty.

In his message on the eve of the World Food Day, the president said: “We renew our commitment to fight hunger and reduce poverty. I wish the FAO the very best on this auspicious occasion, and pray for the success of their endeavours.”

“Pakistan‘s poverty alleviation approach is designed to enhance the quality and access to social and economic services of low-income communities, and to provide them opportunities for income generation via access to micro credit and developing physical infrastructure in rural areas.’’
