FAISALABAD, Oct 11: A seven-day Horse and Cattle Show will be held from Oct 13 to 19, 2001, in the Mela Mandi Ground, Samundri Road, under the surveillance of Tehsil Saddar Municipal Administration.
This was stated by tehsil Saddar Nazim Misbahuddin here on Wednesday.
He said the TMA was finalizing arrangements to ensure better and healthy entertainment with colourful events for the visitors as compared to the past.
Tent-pegging, kabbadi, PT show, horse dance, dog race, bull- cart race, theatres, circus and many more will steal the limelight.
Several stalls of agriculture, livestock and others related to forestry will be set up to create awareness among farmers and livestock owners regarding latest development in the fields.
POSTER COMPETITION: The Faisalabad Arts Council on Wednesday arranged a poster competition in connection with the Quaid-i-Azam year celebrations.
Participants from various institutions presented handicrafts reflecting the Quaid’s sayings.
Ambar Aslam and Sana Sultan of the Laboratory Girls School shared first position while Salman Khalid of the Faisalabad Grammar School and Muzammal Ashraf of the Laboratory School shared the second. The third position belonged to Haneefan Rahman of the Kohinoor Girls School and Hira Anjum of Beacon High School.
Students of the Little Angel School, White Rose School, Shairy Public School and Jamia Model High School won the consolation prizes.
Meanwhile, Faisalabad Arts Council resident director Asif Chaudhry announced that the exhibition shall remain open for the public in the Art Gallery of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium till Oct 12.
DEFAULTERS: Two local traders were arrested jointly by a bailiff and a police team for non-payment of dues of financial institutions.
Zulfiqar Husain obtained a loan of Rs953,000 from the Citibank and failed to return the amount within stipulated time despite repeated reminders by the bank. A bailiff of a court arrested him from his house.
The team also arrested Irshad Ali, who did not return Rs341,000, he owed to a branch of the Habib Bank Limited.
Meanwhile, the Faisalabad Banking Court announced that Becom Textile Mills, Toba Tek Singh, will be auctioned for failure of its owners Ashraf, Nasreen, Asghar, Sobia and Farzana Naz to pay back huge loans of the Pakistan Industrial Credit Investment Corporation.
