KARACHI, Oct 10: Four young girls who are languishing in Darul Amaan, Larkana, after becoming a victim of treachery and feudal mentality of their uncles due to the death of their father will be produced in the Sindh High Court on Oct 24.

The directives were issued when the constitutional petition of a widow from Larkana, Mari, came up for hearing before a division bench, comprising Chief Justice of the SHC Justice Saiyed Saeed Ashhad and Justice Musheer Alam, on Wednesday.

The petitioner was represented by Zia Ahmad Awan, and he submitted that the application of these girls was pending before additional sessions judge Abdul Ghani Soomro at Larkana.

Additional Advocate General Sindh Sarwar Khan submitted that a firm date should be provided to produce daughters of the petitioner from Darul Amaan, Larkana, in this court under police protection.

It is the case of the petitioner that her husband was the only one educated in his family and was doing good business in Larkana but his brothers were involved in criminal activities and had became jealous of her husband.

The petitioner alleged that owing to refusal by her husband to help his brothers because they were not prepared to leave their illegal activities, they hatched a conspiracy and eliminated her husband.

It is also the case of the petitioner that her husband Abdul Ghafoor was allegedly murdered by his brothers. At the time of the incident, brothers of the petitioner’s husband took the brief-case in which half a million rupees in cash were kept for being deposited in the bank.

They took the money on the pretext that there was a need for the treatment of petitioner’s husband and they told her that Abdul Ghafoor will be taken to London for treatment. They also demanded keys to get more money and also deprived the petitioner of all jewellry and documents of agricultural land and properties.

Brothers of petitioner’s husband, Ghulam and Jaro Khan, also got transferred 32 Jiraib land in Larkana in their name fraudulently, Ali Dost got transferred 70 Jiraibs of land of Pulri, factories and shop in his name.

The father-in-law of the petitioner tried to lodge an FIR against his sons for murder of petitioner’s husband, but he was forced not to do so as after the death of his son, he would have to suffer loss of life of his other sons.

After the death of petitioner’s husband, the father-in-law of the petitioner started looking after the petitioner and her daughters.

Meanwhile, the step-brothers of the petitioner sent a message to her to join them as they wanted to remarry her but petitioner’s father-in-law as a guardian advised against it. The petitioner declined the offer of her step-brothers. The court set the next date of Oct 24.
