PESHAWAR: ANP calls for peaceful solution to Afghan crisis

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Oct 9: The Awami National Party has asked for immediate stoppage of US air strikes on Afghanistan to save the people of the war ravaged country from further bloodshed and devastation.

In a press release issued here on Tuesday, Haji Mohammed Adeel, information secretary of ANP, on behalf of his party said that the world powers should try to resolve the Afghan crisis through negotiations otherwise attacks would only add to the miseries and sufferings of the people of Afghanistan.

The party stressed for setting up of a “Loya Jirga” and arrangements for setting in place a broad based government in Afghanistan to replace the Taliban regime.

He said that the US could not get the desired results from the first two-day bombing rather innocent civilians were killed instead of terrorists.
