KARACHI, Oct 8: The Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, on Monday, announced the results of HSC part-I Commerce (regular and private) group annual examination 2001.

According to the BIE notification, 17281 regular and private students were registered for the examinations, while 16850 appeared in the exam, out of which 5374 candidates, including 2322 girls, were declared pass in all the seven papers of the examination.

In all 12307 male and female regular candidates appeared in the examinations. Results of 10129 candidates were declared, while results of 2178 candidates were withheld for want of correct and complete information or for want of enrolment.

On the other hand, 4543 male and female private candidates appeared in examinations, out of which 850 candidates were declared to have passed in seven papers. Results of 134 candidates were withheld for want of correct and complete information.

The breakdown of candidates having passed the papers of Part- I is as follows: Seven papers-5374 (36.97 per cent), Six papers-2900 (19.95pc), five papers-2173 (14.95pc), four papers-1533 (10.54pc), three papers-1112 (7.65pc), two papers-7666 (5.27pc) and one paper- 456 (3.14 per cent).
