Edhi service put on alert

KARACHI, Oct 7: Edhi services were put on red alert following the US-led strikes on Afghanistan on Sunday night.

According to Edhi information cell, relief emergency services across the country have been boosted.

Speaking to Dawn, Abdul Sattar Edhi said 25 ambulances and over 200 volunteers would remain available round-the-clock for services at Hyatabad in Peshawar.

He said Kohat and Hangu had also been extensively covered in this respect by the Edhi services.

He said at least 20 ambulances with over 100 volunteers had also been made available at Quetta. Similar arrangements have also been made at Islamabad.
