Safdar polo in final stage

ISLAMABAD, Oct 6: Askari Bank will be up against ASC in the final of the Safdar Mehmood memorial polo tournament to be played Sunday at the Rawalpindi Race Course.

Despite losing to PAF by 6-5-1/2 goals Saturday, Askari Bank squeezed through on better goal average.

Tanveer Ahmed scored four times while Air-Cmdre Asif Rehman and Sqd-Ldr Haider Ali put in one each to set up victory for PAF.

For Askari Bank, Ahmed Khan struck thrice with Usman Orakzai and Bilal Hasham scoring a goal apiece.

In another match, ASC defeated Gladiators 5-4. Lt-Col Shoaib (2), Brig Ulfat Hussain (2) and Brig Skinder Ali (1) were the ASC scorers, while Atif Khan got a brace for the losers.
