KARACHI: DCO reviews progress on projects in Keamari
KARACHI, Oct 6: The District Coordination Officer, Shafiqur Rehman Paracha, on Saturday visited various areas of Keamari Town to review the progress of under-construction projects of Khushhal Pakistan Programme (KPP).
During the visit, the DCO held meetings in the offices of Keamari Town and its UC-2 to discuss the problems of these areas.
Mr Paracha, reviewing the construction work of three roads under the KPP, issued a directive for further gearing up the pace. He said all schemes must be completed within the stipulated period with maintaining quality of work.
He took notice of delay in the construction of Mauripur Road at Hawkesbay Truck Stand and railway crossing. He showed his dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work.
During their visit recently, Sindh Governor Muhammedmian Soomro and City Nazim Naimatullah Khan had directed the DCO to ensure that the work was continuously monitored and completed in time.
Mr Paracha directed that the road adjoining the truck stand and at railway crossing be immediately completed.
He said the Sindh governor and the Karachi Nazim would soon visit the area to inspect the road.
Later, the DCO visited the basic health unit in Sultanabad and directed the EDO Health to organize medical camps in different areas, particularly in Baba and Bhit islands. He said in this regard cooperation of Towns and Union Councils should also be obtained.
The DCO also went to the office of Union Council and directed that office expansion work should be completed without delay. He said two additional rooms be immediately constructed.
During his visit to Mauripur Road, Mr Paracha took notice of accumulation of sewage in front of Crown cinema and asked the chief engineer for sewerage over the telephone to drain out the sewage, which was not only emitting stench but also giving rise to fear of eruption of epidemics.
During his visit to a private school in the Hawkesbay area, the DCO noted that no teacher was present. — APP
