HYDERABAD, Oct 6: Anti-Terrorism Court Hyderabad Judge Mr Abdul Ghafoor Memon awarded 112 years imprisonment and fine of Rs1,20,000 to two convicted in a murder-cum-robbery case here on Friday.
The convicts Abdul Rehman alias Abri Mallah and Ghulam Mustafa Palijo were sentenced to life imprisonment under sections 34, 301, 392, 394, 6A and B of Anti-Terrorism Act, 13D and 13E in a case lodged at Jhoke Sharif police station.
According to the FIR registered on the complaint of Haji Khan Jalalani, he and his friend Allah Rakhio Jalalani were on their way to home in the area of Jhoke Sharif police station when they were intercepted by three armed bandits.
Accused Abdul Rehman and Ghulam Mustafa tried to snatch their motorbike but they offered stiff resistance on which the robbers opened fire.
They tried to target Haji but the bullet hit Saleem and he died on the spot.
Nevertheless the bandits took away the motorcycle.
The court after hearing the arguments awarded them 112 years of life imprisonment and a fine of Rs120,000 to be given to heirs of deceased.
Under section 301 and 34 PPC they were awarded life imprisonment of 25 years each. Under section 392 they were sentenced to ten years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs50,000 and in default of payment they would have to undergo another two years of imprisonment.
Similarly under section 394 PPC they were awarded ten years imprisonment and a fine of Rs50,000 each and in default of payment two years more rigorous imprisonment.
The court also sentenced them to 25 years of life imprisonment and a fine of Rs50,000 each under section 6A of Anti Terrorism Act and in default of payment two years more imprisonment.
Under section 6B of Anti Terrorism Act they would have to undergo 10 years imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs50,000 each and in default of payment two years more imprisonment.
Under section 13D and 13E they were awarded seven years each rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs20,000 each.
In default of payment they would have to suffer one year more in jail.
