KARACHI, Oct 6: The World Diabetes Day will be observed on November 14. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Diabetic Association of Pakistan here on Saturday.

Dr. Fatema Jawad said that the event would be marked jointly by the DAP and the World Health Organization’s Collaboration Centre in Karachi.

She stated that the theme of this year would be: “ Reducing the Burden: Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases”.

Dr Jim Newmark and Dr Paul Sheldon from Britain will be the guest speakers and will address doctors on diabetes care in the Asian population with special emphasis on prevention of cardiovascular disease.

An open session for people with diabetes and their families will be held the same afternoon.—APP
