KHAIRPUR, Oct 3: Four people including a woman died while two others were seriously injured in a head on collision between a wagon (1429 Sukkur) and a trailer (860405) on Wednesday on the National Highway, 30 kilometres from here.

The deceased were identified as Ms. Zarina (40) wife of Gulu Bhatti, Haji Sher Muhammad Ghumro (70), Ghulam Abbas Shah (32) and a minor Fida Hussain Shah (1).

Ms.Pari and Shehzado Bhatti sustained injuries.

The Kot Diji police have arrested the trailer driver Muhammad Sarwar Awan while the wagon driver managed to escape.

ROTATION SYSTEM: Keeping in view the shortage of irrigation water in Indus River, executive engineer irrigation, east division, has announced weekly rotation programme on Khairpur feeder east system in the division.

The following minors would remain opened from October 1 to 8: Shahnawaz Wah, Khan Wah, Sadarang Wah, Bilawal Wah, Sanesa Wah, Dhadhano minor, Sone Wah, Sanwari minor, Kalra minor, Faiz Ganj Wah, Ali Nawaz Wah, Sathio Wah. Similarly Patini system Sanhro Wah system, Faiz Bux Wah, Ali Bahar Wah system, Pandhro Wah and Veho Wah would also be opened from October 8 to 15.

This weekly programme would continue till shortage of irrigation water in the Indus.

Meanwhile, the Executive Engineer irrigation, west division Khairpur, has announced weekly rotation programme on Khairpur feeder west system in the west division.
