GUJRAT, Oct 3: Over 18 inquiry officers of headquarters police circle accused the police accounts branch of deducting money from their salary, it was learnt here on Wednesday.

A Saddar police officer told this correspondent on the condition of anonymity that officials at accounts branch had deducted Rs2,200 each from the salary of all inquiry officers belonging to Saddar police station.

Similarly, all inquiry officers belonging to Lalamusa city and Saddar police stations were given Rs1,500 less than their salaries, he alleged.

LOOTED: A truck driver was deprived of his truck and cash by nine unidentified highwaymen on the Dinga Road on Tuesday night.

Armed robbers intercepted the truck (SGA-7415), snatched Rs4,000 in cash from driver Zahid Munir and drove away with the truck.

CONDOLENCE: District Nazim Chaudhry Shafaat Husain on Wednesday went to Bahangrawala village to offer his condolences to heirs of six members of a family who were shot dead by their rivals.

He directed the police chief to arrest the outlaws involved in the mass murder.
