ISLAMABAD, Oct 3: The Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench, on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of petition of Palestinian hijackers, seeking a ruling that they should not be extradited to the United States, for an indefinite period, as the counsel for the petitioners did not appear in the court.

Counsel for the petitioners, Advocate Asad Tariq, was not present in the court when the petition was taken up by Justice Javed Buttar. The counsel, however, later told Dawn that he had managed to get the case refixed and it would, most probably, be heard on Thursday.

The petitioners were convicted by a Pakistani court and underwent life imprisonment. Now the United States has demanded that all of them should be handed over to the FBI for trial in the US for killing two Americans. One of the Palestinians, Zayd Hassan Abd Al-Latif Masud has already been extradited to the US.
