KARACHI, April 14 Eight ships carrying containers, coal and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.
Seven ships, Al-Mirqab, Northern Harmony, APL Brisbane, Jakarta to unload and load containers, Green Arrow and Fu Yuan Shn to offload and load general cargo and Torm Venture to offload high-speed diesel were berthed on Tuesday after the departure of six.The departing ships were led by Iron Monger-3, Global Progress, MOL Ability, Kota Harum, Industrial Dream and APL Brisbane. While 10 ships including Ionian Trader, Nayab-1, Perrolink-6, Fu Yuan Shan, APL Sharjah, Northern Harmony, Torm Venture, Deila, St. Stephan and Green Arrow are due to sail out on Wednesday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was fairly active as a total tonnage of 130,000 tons comprising 35,338 tons of export cargo and 94,944 tons of import tonnage was handled. The following ships are due on Wednesday Miss Lucy with mogas, APL Alanta, Hyundai Duke, Kota Handal and Buxlagoon with containers, Ocean Host and Anna-L with coal and Bulk Arrow to load cement.
Port Qasim
KARACHI, April 14 Nine ships scheduled to load/offload containers, cement, diesel oil, furnace oil, palm oil and project cargo arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.
Three ships were accommodated berths as a total of eight ships, Maersk Missouri, Carla, Lady Nariman, Sea Pride, Giovana Iuliano, New Setokaze, Samho Heron and Navigator Gemini, were busy in loading and unloading various commodities.
A cargo volume of 49,632 tons comprising 39,960 tons of import and 9,672 tons of export tonnage was handled.
Carla and New Setokaze sailed out while Maersk Missouri and Navigator Gemini were due to leave the port.
