Islamabad High Court dismisses Farah Dogar case
ISLAMABAD The Islamabad High Court has dismissed the cases filed against Farah Dogar, the daughter of Supreme Court Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, BBC Urdu reported.
Farah Hameed Dogar has been the centre of much controversy over the past several weeks, as it has been alleged that she received higher marks in her board-examinations on account of her father's influence.
However, the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Sardar Mohammad Aslam announced on Friday that the writ petition brought before him had no merit and were therefore dismissed.
The prosecution lawyer, Barrister Azeem Sultan Puri announced that he would file an intra-court appeal following the decision.
At the same time, the National Assembly's Education Committee is also investigating the Farah Hameed Dogar case, and they have yet to announce their findings, meaning that the whole situation is far from over.
The defence has maintained that the case is nothing more than a misunderstanding, since Farah Hameed Dogar had requested re-checking of her papers, after which her marks increased. The prosecution on the other hand believes that the examination marks were increased as a result of her father's influence.
