Three die as vehicle plunges into ravine

ABBOTTABAD, April 5: Three people were killed and six others injured when a pick-up skidded into a deep ravine near Bakot on Friday.

The vehicle was on its way from Abbottabad to Pattan and the driver lost control over it near Bakot. As a result the vehicle plunged into a deep ravine killing three people.

The victims were identified as Abdur Rasheed son of Abdullah, resident of Gayyar, Bostan, resident of Khurni and Khanizaman son of Nawaz, resident of Bagla.

The injured were sent to Combined Military Hospital, Muzaffarabad. The driver fled the scene.

PTCL: Three new telephone digital exchanges have started functioning in the district.

This was announced by General Manager, Hazara Telecom Region (HTR) Muhammad Irshad while addressing as a chief guest at inauguration ceremonies of these exchanges at Hajiya Gali, Muhada Tanki and Pind Hashim Khan villages.

The general manager, Hazara Telecom Region, directed divisional engineer (telegraph) to sit three days at Haripur and three days at Abbottabad to look into complaints of customers.

It was further notified that the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited will provide new telephone connections in the district for which special cells has been established at Mandian, Nawanshehr and main Abbottabad exchange.
