HYDERABAD, May 27 The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) machine used in the diagnosis of hepatitis was made operational in the Bhittai Hospital Latifabad on Tuesday. The cost of the machine is Rs10 million.

Hyderabad District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil was given a detailed briefing at the hospital's pathology laboratory on the working of machine.

Mr Jamil said that this was the third public sector hospital where a PCR machine had been installed after, one each at Karachi and Hyderabad civil hospitals.
