Six students hurt as rival groups clash
OKARA, Nov 19 Six students of the Government Degree College were injured when two groups had a clash on the institute premises over display of banners and stickers.
The injured students belong to the Muslim Students Federation which had a clash with the rival People's Students Federation.
Reports said several students of both groups quarrelled over the issue of displaying banners and stickers. They came to blows and clubbed each other as a result of which six students (of the MSF) were injured. They are Rao Zafar Iqbal, the MSF president, Muhammad Akram, Muhammad Aslam, Zainul Abedin, Zeeshan and Adnan.
They were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital from where they were discharged after first aid.
The City A-Division police are investigating.
BOOK LAUNCH Literati and intellectuals graced the launch of a book titled 'Meri nazar say dekho tu' by Prof Muhammad Amin Anjum.
Masood Ahmad Okarvi, a known poet, chaired the event and Prof Muhammad Akram Tahir and Prof Ahmad Saqi were guests of honour. Poets and writers read out excerpts from the book and described it as a good addition to literature.
