HYDERABAD, March 5: Three persons of a family were found dead in Gari Khata area, Fort police station jurisdiction, on Wednesday.

They were identified as Shahid Mughal, his wife, Fauzia, and his four-year-old daughter, Unzla.

According to residents of the area, a woman sweeper knocked at the door of Shahid but she did not get any response and the family of Shahid’s younger brother, Ejaz, was informed. When the door was opened by a boy who scaled the wall of the house, all the three inmates were found dead.

The bodies had turned bluish but had no marks of violence.

A close relative of Shahid shifted the bodies to the civil hospital.

The post-mortem of Shahid was conducted by the medico-legal officer of the civil hospital, Dr Baldev Kumar, and Dr Atiya Soomro was conducting the post-mortem of Fauzia and her daughter.

The MLO said the cause of the deaths appeared to be intake of poisonous substance.

A team of police officials, led by City taluka police officer Miandad Jakhro and SHO Hyder Abbas Rizvi, who visited the residence of the deceased, found a note on a medical prescription pad, believed to had been written by Shahid.

The note read: “After my death my lender should dispose of my belongings in the house and distribute the amount among themselves. My relatives should sell the portion of the house which I am currently residing in and then pay the amount to my lenders. My post-mortem and those of my family members should not be conducted”.

According to a close friend of Shahid, he was disturbed because he had borrowed money from different people for his business. His elder son, Ali Hassan, had gone to Karachi to meet his maternal grandmother.

The TPO said a suicide case would be registered although the police did not found any poisonous substance in the house.
