HYDERABAD, Nov 29: As many as 105 liberated Haris including women and children in four groups staged a protest demonstration outside the Hyderabad press club here on Thursday against the tyranny of their landlords.

Earlier the peasants were produced before Sindh High Court (SHC) where they were allowed to go anywhere they liked.

Fifteen haris of Obaidullah Dars were produced by DSP Khipro of district Sanghar, 22 haris of landlord Dur Mohammad Lashari, 21 others who were employed by Musa Kachhi and 47 peasants who had been working on the land of Fateh Ali Rajar in Dhoro Naro, Mirpurkhas, were also produced before the SHC by the area police on the orders of the court.

The SHC freed the haris and asked them to go wherever they liked.

The liberated peasants told newsmen that they were made to work without compensation, their movement was restricted by the landlords and their henchmen and they were subjected to inhuman atrocities by them.

The haris who were brought from the land of Obaidullah Dars alleged that seven more peasants were still being held in captivity by the landlord.
