Asthma Day observed
LAHORE, May 7: Like other parts of the country, the World Asthma Day was observed on Tuesday in the provincial capital by organising consultative dialogues and seminars.
The day is an annual event organised by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) to improve asthma awareness and care around the world.
This year’s theme was “You Can Control Your Asthma”. However, GINA also introduced a sub-theme, “It’s Time to Control Asthma”.
Shalimar Hospital organised a medical camp at its outpatient department to mark the day where patients were facilitated by free lung, blood pressure tests and chest X-rays. Awareness literature and free medicines were also provided to the patients.
Hospital Chief Operating Officer Prof Dr Rashid Ahmad and Dr Saleem Zaman delivered healthcare awareness lectures to the patients and attendants.
